The Office of Academic Success Initiatives (OASI) promotes retention, persistence, and completion through programs, projects, and collaboration with campus stakeholders. We work with campus partners to identify and eliminate common barriers to student success. We are committed to the success of each student, and our office can provide you with support and resources to help you achieve your goals.
Proactive Outreach and Communication
We regularly reach out to students to provide timely information about academic and enrollment procedures and processes, including: withdrawal deadlines, removing holds and registering for classes.
From time to time, we may also reach out to individual students to check in or offer support. Whether we call, email, text, or invite you to schedule an appointment, we hope you respond.
During weeks five to seven of each fall and spring semester, faculty teaching undergraduate courses are asked to provide progress reports for their students. Faculty can identify if they are concerned about a student’s academic performance or attendance and provide feedback as to how they can improve. Faculty can also let a student know they are making positive progress.
Students can view all of their progress reports in the Navigate360 Student app. A dedicated Midterm Progress Report Triage Team responds to progress reports of concern through various outreach methods.
Starting Fall 2025
Academic Success Coaching
Beginning Fall 2025, Academic Success Coaching will provide first-year students with proactive, personalized support to address challenges and build the skills necessary for their success. All incoming first-time-in-college students will be assigned to a full-time staff academic success coach. The program will support students in their transition from high school to college by helping them adjust to the academic, social and personal differences between those experiences. Coaches can help students set goals, identify potential barriers, build academic skills and engage campus resources. Students will be able to find and contact their assigned coach using the Navigate360 Student app.
Students who need support but are not assigned a coach, can contact us at succeed@tiemles.com.
